As we pack up the baubles until next year, January is a time where most of us are rigidly sticking to resolutions and putting into place the plans made with family over Christmas dinner.

As estate agents, we know that the new year brings not only a wave of requests from homeowners for valuations, but also a strong increase in enquiries from buyers.  

Some families have spent the festive season feeling a bit crushed and will have made firm plans to move.  Down-sizers, faced with more rooms than needed and unnecessary heating bills are considering a ‘right-size’.  In many cases younger people have been gifted money from older relatives whilst some professionals are now sitting with annual bonuses in the bank.  It is certainly a time where most of us consider major live events, and if moving house in the new year is one of yours, January can be the perfect time to do it.
